Bayswater District MP Heidi Victoria says Labor’s complete lack of interest in Heathmont, Bayswater and Boronia Stations has again been demonstrated, with 500 new carparks being added to five stations in Macedon, while Labor’s Public Transport Minister tells Heathmont Station users to park at Ferntree Gully.

“Heathmont, Bayswater and Boronia Stations fill very early in the morning peak, but all Labor will do is tell users to go to Ferntree Gully to park,” Ms Victoria said.

Ms Victoria’s comments follow an answer from Public Transport Minister, Jacinta Allan, to a question Ms Victoria asked in Parliament about the lack of parking locally. Ms Allan said: “New car parking spaces will be built at Ferntree Gully station and these will help alleviate demand at Heathmont station.”

Google Maps suggests it is a 10.3km, 24 minute drive from Heathmont to Ferntree Gully Station in the morning peak. Then the train takes another 9 minutes to get back to Heathmont.
